SPVA NEWSLETTER VOLUME 3 Happy Anniversary, SPVA!
From launch to first anniversary, the SPVA has a range of accomplishments to celebrate this month thanks to its robust membership and a sharp vision for the future. We look at important developments that have occurred since April 2009 and put the organization on track to strategic goals. Prominent payment industry leaders joined our ranks and we’re now 19 members strong. And as they say, membership has its rewards. In our case, membership allows companies to have a voice in the world of secure payments and help shape the future through vital Technical Working Groups which are the working “nuts and bolts” of the SPVA. At least two white papers are in the works and will be released within the year. If you are not actively participating in a Technical Working Group, the SPVA encourages you to do so to maximize your member benefits. Send security issues or inquiries to info@spva.org. SPVA has a strong presence and reputation within the payment community leading almost a dozen presentations on secure payment topics, reaching thousands of payment stakeholders. The SPVA demonstrated its commitment to security collaboration by forming the new Lab Network, a group of labs that participate with SPVA members, prospective members and TWGs on security evaluations of the SPVA implementation guidelines. We encourage everyone to refer a member at every opportunity. And beyond that, please get involved. Opportunities abound within the organization such as TWG participation and speaking engagements that offer the benefit of getting your company’s name front and center of the secure payments conversation.
